Timber Balustrading & Handrails
Protecting from falls with style and design
Balustrading
Balustrades are required to be installed, as per Clause F4.3.1, “where people could fall one metre or more from an opening in the external envelope or floor of a building, or from a sudden change of level within or associated with a building, a barrier shall be provided”. However, the design opportunity through the using of timber can create balustrades into a feature in either an internal space and/or external areas. Speak to a product specialist about the range of species and profiles that can be used.
Handrails
Handrails are needed for support when a platform rises over 1 metre as per Clause F4 of the Building Code. All our profiles are designed with the average hand grip ability in mind to provide maximum assistance possible. The profiles can also be used along the top of balustrades, as well as up stairways. If you have a bespoke profile design in mind, please contact us as we would love to create it with you.
